What We Do

Principals face many challenges in leading for the 21st century. Transformations in school systems and communities in the U.S. and around the world have greatly expanded the leadership role of principals. MEMSPA and NAESP advocate for the support principals need to be successful 21st century leaders—to achieve the highest results for children, families, and communities.

MEMSPA PAC

A Political Action Committee (PAC) is one of the best ways to show legislators that your membership speaks with one voice on the important education issues that face today's children, schools and principals.

Speak with One Unified Voice

Your membership in the MEMSPA PAC enables MEMSPA to support and attend legislators' functions and thus establish relationships with key education supporters in Legislature. Good, working, and friendly relationships coupled with greater access to legislators will lead to more opportunities to influence education and school policy in Lansing and Washington, DC.

Your $60 membership donation fee ($5 a month) will show your commitment to an effective legislative process and a unified message.

Why should you join?

  • Increased Unity- Large numbers enrolled in the MEMSPA PAC will display to legislators that MEMSPA members are like-thinking individuals and are unified on major issues.
  • Increased Legislative Effectiveness- MEMSPA PAC funds enable MEMSPA to support legislators.
  • Increased Opportunity to Assist Candidates- MEMSPA PAC funds enable MEMSPA to assist education friendly candidates in elections. When our friends win, we win!

What does the MEMSPA PAC Budget enable us to do?

MEMSPA PAC contributions enable MEMSPA and its members to participate financially in candidate recruitment, candidate development, and campaign fundraising/contributions.

What about my MEMSPA dues?

MEMSPA/NAESP dues are completely seperate from MEMSPA PAC contributions.

PAC membership is essential for a successful MEMSPA legislative program. When education friendly candidates run for office, it is important that we, MEMSPA members, are able to assist our political allies in winning those elections and in turn have our voice heard on issues vital to you, our members.
