Executive Director's Report

I’m surprised!  We at MEMSPA surveyed the concept, surveyed the topics, surveyed the date, and found some of the best attorneys in our state to present at our Legal Issues Workshop on Wednesday, April 30…and only 25 participants have signed up so far.

I think the topics that came from you are so important that I have opened the registration up to any person in your district sponsored by an elementary and middle school principal.  If members send their secretaries, assistants, special ed director, he/she will receive the member discount fee.  IF a non-member sends someone else they will need to pay the non-member fee.  Click here to see the full agenda and registration form.  This is so up to date and specific to what you do (or shouldn’t do) in your schools.  A day spent here may save you a year or more of consternation.

Very soon most members of our Executive Committee will attend NAESP’s Annual Convention in Nashville, TN.  They will hear national and international speakers, participate in governance, and be exposed to the “latest and greatest” in educational products.

If you have never attended a national conference I encourage you to do so.  It is extremely relevant to your district as you bring back ideas and initiatives that are valuable to your school.  Next year it is in New Orleans and I hope to see you there!

There is much to do before I leave for Nashville.  I hope your spring break (if you have already had it) gave you the rest you so richly deserve.

Bob
