What We Do

Principals face many challenges in leading for the 21st century. Transformations in school systems and communities in the U.S. and around the world have greatly expanded the leadership role of principals. MEMSPA and NAESP advocate for the support principals need to be successful 21st century leaders—to achieve the highest results for children, families, and communities.

Principal's Award

As the end of the school year draws near, we at the Michigan Elementary and Middle School Principals Association are making a "Principal's Award" available to every principal in the state of Michigan. We believe that there is an exemplary child in every school who deserves special recognition from their building principal.

This certificate, signed by the president and the executive director of the Michigan Elementary and Middle School Principals Association, is to be presented to an exemplary student, from the exiting grade, in your school.

When selecting the award recipient, you should consider the one student who is most deserving of special recognition for exemplary achievement, for overcoming a challenging obstacle, or having made a significant contribution to the quality of life in your school.  Specific criteria for this award can be determined by you.
