Mentoring and Coaching

We believe that it is important for our school leaders to have adequate support throughout their careers, not just in the first few years.  More and more, we are hearing that districts don’t necessarily have the capacity to mentor/coach their own leaders. School leaders are faced with an increasing number of challenges as they strive to improve teaching and learning in their schools. One-on-one mentoring and coaching is an effective tool to support the growth of the principal and increase effectiveness and longevity in the profession. Principals find the long-term relationship with a mentor/coach supportive and helpful in the sometimes isolated role.

Mentoring includes virtual meetings each month and is tailored to the needs of the school leader, setting goals and using standards for what school leaders should know and be able to do as a guide.
