MEMSPA’s Assistant Principals/Deans series offers a diverse range of engaging professional learning topics with one in person day followed by a series of virtual workshops focused specifically with assistant principals and deans in mind. This learning opportunity is structured to meet the needs of the assistant school leader, promotes ongoing growth and provides role specific content, peer networking, support and practical tools. Leaders will also identify goals for their future as educational leaders. The Assistant Principals/Deans Series empowers assistant principals & deans to excel and drive positive change within their schools!

Meet the Facilitators:
Doug Ammeraal
Doug currently serves as the principal at Mona Shores Middle School in Muskegon, Michigan, and is the current MEMSPA President-Elect. He is an educator who believes the strength of a school comes from the strength of its relationships with students, staff, families, and the broader community. Over the past two decades, he has served as a teacher, coach, principal, and statewide leader, always focused on creating schools where people feel seen, supported, and proud to belong.
Mike Domagalski
Mike serves as an Elementary Principal (Y5-5th) and a Virtual Academy Principal (K-12) of the East China School District. He also serves on the MEMSPA Foundation Board and is the Chairperson of the East China Educational Foundation. With extensive experience in educational leadership, and as a Past-President of MEMSPA, Mike Domagalski focuses on empowering others to be their best selves, especially when it comes to those interested in the leadership aspect of education. Mike has a proven track record of enhancing student outcomes and implementing innovative strategies for educational improvement.
Dr. David Simpson
Dr. Simpson is an educator who believes the strength of a school comes from the strength of its relationships with students, staff, families, and the broader community.
