Elementary and middle level principals, along with school leaders from across the state, are invited to the MEMSPA Summer Leadership Institute on August 5 & 6, 2025, at the picturesque Mission Point Resort on Mackinac Island! Set against the stunning backdrop of Mackinac Island, MEMSPA’s Summer Leadership Institute will provide a perfect blend of learning and connection, designed to equip you with tools and strategies to lead with confidence and purpose in the upcoming school year.
We are excited to announce that our Summer Leadership Institute will feature two incredible keynote speakers, including Dr. Ernest Morrell, who is a Coyle Professor in Literacy Education and the Director of the Notre Dame Center for Literacy Education and the dynamic Jim “Basketball” Jones who travels the country providing interactive and inspirational presentations in the areas of growth mindset, PBIS, anti‑bullying education, character education and leadership for both students and staff.
In addition to our keynote presentations, attendees will experience sessions focused on instructional leadership strategies, MTSS, assessment, time management for leaders, behavior and academic interventions, culturally responsive leadership, stress management for women in leadership, technology tools for administrators and more!
