Professional Bio
Matt Severin is the principal of Merritt Elementary School in Brandywine Community Schools in Southwest Michigan. With 28 years of experience in education, he has taught at the high school, middle school, and elementary levels, and has served successfully as both a middle and elementary school principal.
An active member of MEMSPA, Matt currently represents Michigan as NAESP State Representative on the MEMSPA board of directors. He demonstrates his commitment to professional growth through NAESP principal mentor certification, Cognitive Coaching proficiencies, and completion of MEMSPA’s Leadership Matters and Leverage Leadership programs.
Passionate about developing new and aspiring school leaders, Matt continues to seek opportunities to expand his knowledge and skills so he can remain at the forefront of effective school leadership and support the next generation of principals.
