Timothy Lyman

Mr. Lyman has been an educator for more than 25 years and feels grateful to have spent his career working with children, families, and staff. He began as a classroom teacher in 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades before moving into school leadership, where he has proudly served as a principal for the past 19 years.
After beginning his principal career in West Michigan for four years, Mr. Lyman joined Waverly Community Schools in Lansing and has had the privilege of leading two school buildings over the last 15 years. Along the way, he has continued to learn and grow, completing Leadership Matters twice and staying actively involved in MEMSPA—first at the regional level and later on the Executive Board as Secretary/Treasurer.
What Mr. Lyman enjoys most about his work is building strong relationships, supporting students as they learn and grow, and partnering with families and staff to create a positive school community.
