Local Agents Connect Schools to Food Focused Grants

Partner Updates,

At Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan, we’re Michigan based and Michigan focused. Michigan is our home. We live here, work here and are raising our families here. As Michigan’s insurance company we proudly support our schools and communities and are especially proud of our Family of Companies’ social responsibility mission to end childhood hunger in Michigan.

Agents for Change grants awards up to $2,500 to Michigan schools to support in-school initiatives aimed at alleviating childhood hunger through agricultural education (ex - FARM crates, FARM Science Lab) or school-based hunger-relief programming (ex - snack or in-school backpack programs).

The school or school district must be the beneficiary of the funds to be considered through this program. If you are interested in supporting a 501(c)(3) entity that is headquartered in and exclusively operates to serve hunger-relief needs in a singular school or district, please connect with the ACF Manager to determine the best application form.

This is a two-part application that must be initiated by a Farm Bureau agent. Once the agent completes their section, they will enter the name, email and phone number for a contact person at your school. The school district will then receive a link to complete the application. Once both sections are complete and submitted, the application will be considered complete.

With local agents across our state, one is nearby to work with you and your school district to ensure you have access to many of our school focused programs including:

  • Grants to fuel food focused programs (all grade levels)

  • Canines for Change therapy dogs (all grade levels)

  • America & Me Essay Contest for 8th graders (middle school/Jr. high)

  • Coaches vs. Cancer charity basketball games (high school)

  • Arrive Alive distracted driving simulator (high school)

  • FARM Science Lab for agriculture science education (elementary)
